Prof Mohamed Karama
Prof Mohamed Karama is a Professor of Public Health and Epidemiology. Currently is the Ag. Vice-Chancellor Umma University. His work experience include working with the ministry of health in the Department of Communicable diseases control after which he joined the Kenya Medical Research Institute. His main areas of research are in public health and in particular the control of schistosomiasis in Mwea Irrigation Scheme and water and sanitation. He has been a Lecturer at the School of Public Health Kenyatta University and has also supervised students at Masters Level from JKUAT University as part of the Institute of Tropical Medicine. He also e-lectures to students from Minnesota in USA the Minnesota Students International Development and supervises students from the school of Global health from Nagasaki University In japan. He has been the Chairman of AMREF Scientific and Ethical Committee for the last 10 years. His goal is to develop research skills to improve evidence based approaches in development in Kenya
